Class A Technology

In a Class A amplifier, the amplification devices are on all the time.  This eliminates the hand off distortion caused when the amplification devices turn on and off.  The resulting lower hand off distortion makes Class A amplifiers more dynamic, cleaner, and have better rhythm and pace than modern chip amplifiers and non Class A designs.  

As with all Swan Song Audio designs, the Class A designs do not use global feedback.  Global feedback often improves distortion measurements but at the expense of dynamics and details.  Swan Song Audio products use clean power technology to eliminate the need for global feedback.  Eliminating global feedback and hand off distortion allows the music's dynamics and details to be clearly heard.

Class A Integrated Amplifier - $3400

The 10 watt all Class A integrated amplifier is the ideal amplifier for smaller listening environments.  It combines art deco styling with the following functions.

  • Preamplifier
  • Headphone Amplifier
  • DAC
  • Tone Controls
  • Amplifier

Three 192 kHz digital inputs are provided to connect the amplifier to a digital source.  For analog signals there is a set of line level analog inputs.  

If there is no headphone plug inserted, the Class A Amp functions as a 10 watt amplifier routing the signal to the volume control and the defeatable tone controls.  Once the volume and tonality is set, the signal is sent to the speakers.

Because it is a 10 watt amplifier, the Class A Amp’s discrete circuitry provides the drive needed for headphones ranging from 20 ohms to 600 ohms.  Simply put, the Class A brings you closer to the music while supporting both speakers and headphones.

Completing the Class A is a beautiful aluminum chassis with solid aluminum knobs. The wood used for the sides and the lighting color is chosen by the owner.  Wood choices include:
